About the role

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Health and Safety
• To ensure safe working practices, following school policies and procedures and implementing the regulations relating to Health and Safety
• To use personal protective equipment and follow lone working procedures- See Health and

Safety Policy
• Report any accidents, incidents or near misses
• Assist Site Manager with health and safety inspections and tests
• Use and maintain two-way radio to stay connected at all times
• Act as a Fire Warden
• Assist with legionella prevention, water temperature checks and outlet purging

Security:
• Open the school building in the morning or securing in the evening (working patterns are subject to change when needed), checking all evacuation routes and emergency exits are clear. Make notes of any problems and report them to the Site Manager
• Operate Alarm system
• Unlock, open, close and lock gates as required. Maintain security being vigilant for any strangers on the site and checking their identity.
• Monitor and support contractors working on site.

Deliveries
• Receive and distribute deliveries keeping reception and the service yard clear.
• Deliver any urgent post as required

School Cleaning
• Support cleaning staff to carry out job effectively; doors unlocked, and cleaning materials can be accessed. Report any issues related to the quality of work to the Site Manager
• Directly undertake any emergency cleaning as required: Spills kit situated in cleaning cupboards
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning consumables
