Stocklake Park is a member of the Vale Federation of Special Schools, together with the primary school, Booker Park. With 103 students on roll, Stocklake Park caters for secondary aged students with a broad diversity of complex needs including profound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties. We provide high quality education and care and students have access to a range of therapies, multi-agency professionals and a team of therapists who support students’ needs.

We offer an excellent training package for staff together with a fantastic opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinking team who are providing a therapeutic and unique learning environment for its students. All students have access to swimming at our primary site, a rebound centre and purpose built outdoor spaces including a MUGA (multi use games area) and playground equipment. About the role

As a Senior Teaching Assistant the successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. with the class teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson/work plans as appropriate.

You will assist with the development and implementation of individual education and personal care plans, attending to personal hygiene needs and administering medicines.

You will be required to lead whole classes in the absence of both the Teacher and Assistant Teacher within the class. We offer comprehensive training from our many in house experts, a full induction programme and numerous career paths as you progress. Please see candidate pack for further details.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have a minimum of three years’ experience of working with children and young people who have a range of special educational and complex needs either in a special school or similar setting, or maybe through a different job role.

You will be able to liaise with other professionals in order to carry out recommendations required and also work on your own initiative.

A good working knowledge of ICT to be able to effectively support learning and a commitment to training is expected. Resilience, common sense and a commitment to working as part of a team are also key attributes. Please see candidate pack for further details.
