Overview
Hamilton Academy is looking to recruit a full time caretaker to work in our busy two site school on Priory Road and Hampden Road in High Wycombe.
The caretaker will take on all the daily aspects of managing and maintaining the school sites.
The role would suit someone positive and pro-active to ensure the school looks it best, and pupils and staff can get the most out of the premises.
Term time only: No
Salary Type: Bucks pay
Salary details: £24,879 to £26,961
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Normally 7:00am to 11:00am and then 3:15pm to 6:15pm Mon-Fri

About the role
Duties will include premises management, maintenance, security of the buildings and site, ensuring inside and outside environment are well maintained and meet Health and Safety requirements.
You will be supported by a part-time assistant caretaker at the Priory Road site, as well as a daily contract cleaning team, and external grounds maintenance contractor to help maintain the school sites.
You will work closely with the Business Manager to ensure premises development plans come to fruition, and Health and Safety regimes are maintained.

You will be an able, practical and cheerful self-motivated person.
You should have an eye for detail, care about the quality of your work, and take pride in the school sites and buildings that you help maintain.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate they are:
• honest, reliable and hardworking;
• able to work using their own initiative;
• have good DIY and premises maintenance skills and be able to carry out minor repairs and jobs competently;
• committed to achieving high standards in their work;
• willing to improve and develop your skills and expertise;
• able to deal with staff, pupils and the public in an efficient and friendly manner.

Other information
A 3-bedroom detached caretaker’s house may be included in the post, with a subsidised rent. Applications from candidates who do not require the house will be welcomed as well.
There will be opportunities for some overtime with this role.
