About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an outstanding teacher to join our Geography department from September 2025 or earlier. The successful candidate will teach Geography in a dedicated subject classroom and will work alongside a highly experienced and supportive team of staff committed to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will be able to teach Geography to students in all key stages and be actively involved in GCSE preparation. You will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons to ensure students achieve their best outcomes.

We welcome applications from ECTs or more experienced teachers wishing to broaden their experience.

Geography is an enjoyable and successful subject in our school. It is compulsory at Key Stage 3 and is an extremely popular choice at both GCSE and A Level. We teach the AQA specification throughout Key Stages 4 and 5.

We would like to employ a teacher with excellent subject knowledge and a passion for sharing this with young people. You must be a reflective practitioner committed to strong personal growth and continuing professional development. Our students enjoy a wide range of extra and co-curricular opportunities, which help to develop their social and interpersonal skills. We aim to recruit the right person for the role and will support the right candidate with extensive training and development opportunities.

Requirements for this Geography role:
-Relevant experience teaching GCSE Geography
-A strong understanding of the secondary Geography curriculum from Key Stage 3-5
-Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to support students’ learning
-Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
-Must have a DBS on the updated service
-QTS status achieved or in progress
-Enjoys collaborative working as a strong team member

About you

Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver well-structured Geography lessons in line with the GCSE curriculum
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
Support students with exam preparation to achieve academic success
Foster a positive and motivating classroom environment
