As the ASC Direct Payments Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and delivery of Direct Payments within Adult Social Care. Your leadership will be key in guiding a team of dedicated professionals to provide exceptional service to the residents of Buckinghamshire. You will be responsible for overseeing operational activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and fostering a culture of independence and wellbeing.
About the role
As the ASC Direct Payments Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and delivery of Direct Payments within Adult Social Care. Your leadership will be key in guiding a team of dedicated professionals to provide exceptional service to the residents of Buckinghamshire. You will be responsible for overseeing operational activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and fostering a culture of independence and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities:
- Promote, deliver training and support professionals to use Direct Payments appropriately.
- Manage, review, and develop the delivery of service within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with statutory social care requirements including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and a community assets-based approach to social care practice.
- Provide leadership and professional support to colleagues in situations of high complexity.
- Contribute to service improvement and strategy development within the area of specialization.
- Ensure effective performance of the team using the ASC Performance Dashboard and other methods.
- Respond to complaints and concerns in line with the Complaints Procedure.
- Promote the Council's Equality Policy and prevent discrimination.
About you
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional with substantial relevant experience and success in a similar role. You should have:
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of procedural and legislative frameworks relevant to the role.
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver training.
- Competent in the use of IT and case management systems.
- Full driving license required.
Desirable qualifications and skills:
- Management qualification.
- Evidence of consistent pattern of learning and development.
You should be ambitious, solution-focused, collaborative, and trustworthy, with a commitment to delivering high standards and continuous improvement.
