Sessional Tutor – English and Maths

Location: Buckinghamshire County Wide

Overview

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning is part of the Learning, Skills and Prevention Service, whose mission is: to provide inclusive learning opportunities that promote well-being and inspire people living or working in Buckinghamshire to achieve their potential.

About us

We are the main provider of part-time learning opportunities for adults in the county. The Service offers an advertised programme of taught courses and workshops from Entry Level to Level 5. We offer qualifications in areas such as English, Mathematics and English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) and a range of NVQs. We also offer a wide range of non-accredited courses in creative studies, foreign languages, computing and health and fitness.

Approximately 8,000 learners each year access our programmes in around 140 locations across the county, including dedicated Adult Learning Centres, school premises, community centres and employer premises. Programmes are available daytime, evening and weekends for most of the year. There are courses for parents and carers with their children arranged by the Family Learning team. We work with employers, both large and small, delivering Skills for Life, NVQs and apprenticeships up to Level 5.

The service is principally funded by the Education Skills Funding Agency and we are subject to inspection by OFSTED. Any curriculum areas that are not satisfactory are subject to re-inspection.
