Maintenance and Operations Supervisor

Leading a small team, the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor will play a key role in delivering a variety of work strands including maintenance of the car park estate/car park equipment, ensuring we are delivering a high- quality parking provision for our customers, along with parking suspensions/dispensations to support the Highways programme and parking schemes.
About us
The parking service operates across Buckinghamshire to manage supply of parking, reduce congestion, promote safety, and encourage use of alternative transport options. We have 94 car parks (including 7 multi-storey car parks) and c.7500 on street parking spaces, which contribute towards the vitality of our towns and villages.

About the role
As the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor, you will hold a critical position with a broad range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring we meet our maintenance priorities, understanding that for customers using our parking facilities, the parking location is the first and last point of contact when visiting the area, and meet our operational requirements. Some of your responsibilities include:
- Effective planning to ensure work schedule(s) are delivered to the required timescale. Contribute to the development of longer-term plans.
- Conduct monthly maintenance inspections of the car parks and ensure parking equipment is properly maintained - resolving any issues promptly. Liaising with contractors as required.
- Lead on suspension of kerb space (implementation and removal), ensuring legislative requirements are met.
- Ensure procedures and risk assessments are in place/kept up to date for area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate strong management, leading by example and supporting the team. Promote a culture that align to the Council’s values and behaviours framework.
On-the-go:
Our ‘on-the-go’ roles mean you’ll usually start and finish your day from a base, moving around between different locations throughout the day. You won’t need a fixed desk to work from, but you’ll have access to our network where you can keep up to date with admin and the latest staff updates.
About you
We are looking for applicants who possess all the necessary skills and attributes that are required in order to deliver the accountabilities listed here and in the job summary. Naturally, we are looking for you to have the necessary knowledge and experience relative to parking maintenance operations. We are also looking for applicants with demonstrable leadership skills to support the team.
