As an Occupational Therapist at Alfriston, you will provide extensive therapy to children with communication, motor, and sensory needs in a school setting. Term time only (39 Weeks)

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 7-8 ISN 36-45 (£40,835 - £51,081) Pro Rata (Actual Salary £18,624 - £23,297 Per Annum)

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 3 Days Per Week (22.5 Hours) 8.30am-4.30pm

About the role

Job Purpose
• Provide therapy with children with communication, motor, and sensory needs within a school setting.
• Complete assessments and produce reports to contribute to annual review and Educational Health and Care Plan meetings.
• Ensure the service is provided in close collaboration with education staff and other professionals to meet the needs of the child or young person.

About you

Essential Qualifications
Current Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration
Professional Qualification in Occupational Therapy – BSc degree or Equivalent.
Sensory Integration Module 1, 2 or 3
Evidence of continuing professional development

Essential Experience
Working with children/adolescents with additional needs (educational, social, emotional, mental health or physical)
Working with parents / families who need support creating sensory diets, programmes, regulation strategies
Working with a range of professionals and agencies

Desirable Experience
Experience of EHCP and the annual review process
Standardised & unstandardised assessment e.g. DASH, COSA, SP2
Working with pupils with Sensory Process Disorder (SPD)
MDT meeting and collaborative working
