About the role
We currently have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to work with children in Key Stage 2. The post will mainly involve the one to one support of children who require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive in their learning environment, helping them to work inclusively within the classroom and to assist them with activities outside of class when this becomes a challenge. You may at times also be helping other children to participate in learning activities running intervention groups and providing general support to the teaching staff.
About you
For this post, our ideal candidate will have some experience of working with children in Key Stage 1 or 2 ideally with additional needs. They will demonstrate an understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs and trauma informed practice. Importantly, they will be patient, empathetic and able to think creatively and flexibly to support pupils’ unique needs. It is important that applicants have a love of helping children engage in learning and be happy to undertake any training necessary to run interventions in school.
