Transport Assistant

Overview

Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Assistant within the Client Transport Team.

We are looking for someone to deliver high quality administrative and financial support so that the service is able to provide excellence in customer service and support the client transport improvement journey.

The role will primarily provide support to the Client Transport Finance Team and will involve managing data, processing Invoices, personal transport budget claims, and dealing with phone call enquiries from parents and carers.

Client Transport Compliance Team to provide support and effective and efficient administrative support service to process and ensure accuracy of all aspects of the Buckinghamshire Council ID applications process

To support transport unit as directed by their manager.

Transport Services provides integrated passenger transport for children to get to school, social care transport, and supports the public transport infrastructure. 

The service manages high volume activity for thousands of mainstream and SEN children to get to school, as well as high value contracts with suppliers.

The post holder would be part of a dedicated team reporting to the Client Transport Manager.

About the role

Key Accountabilities

  • Dealing with and tracking incoming correspondence, emails, and telephone calls and responding to queries from internal and external customers
  • Maintaining and developing efficient office systems
  • Gathering, collating and chasing up information
  • Completing and processing applications and information using manual and computerised systems

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

You will need to be highly organised and able to effectively support members of the Client Transport. The role also requires good working knowledge of Microsoft office.

About the Business Unit

Our Communities directorate works across the county to deliver a number of the key customer-facing services that our residents, businesses and visitors rely on every day.
