Alfriston School is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Maths Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach in a school that specialises in supporting students with a wide range of special educational needs, including moderate learning disabilities and communication and language difficulties.

Term time only

Salary Type: MPS/UPS

Salary details: M1-M6 (£33,075 - £45,037) or up to UPS2 £48,719 (depending on experience) plus SEN allowance of £2,679

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

About the role

As a Maths Teacher you will:

• Deliver high-quality, differentiated maths lessons to students with a range of needs and abilities.
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to ensure learning is accessible and engaging.
• Use a range of assessment tools to track and support pupil progress.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider staff team.
• Create a positive, structured classroom environment where all pupils feel safe and supported.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a passion for maths and inclusive education.
• Has experience teaching in a mainstream or SEN setting.
• Understands how to adapt maths teaching for pupils working below age-related expectations.
• Is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping every learner succeed.
• Works well as part of a team and is willing to learn and grow professionally.
