Overview
This is an exciting behaviour change opportunity across Neighbourhood Service Waste Management Services. Services include all kerbside collection and street scene, waste management (recycling centres, disposal etc.) and enforcement (littering and fly tipping).

About the role
This is a permanent post as the previous postholder has taken up a progression opportunity within the team.
You will be working closely with the Service Director, Head of Strategic Waste Management & Enforcement, with the Heads of Waste Collection Services and their teams, and internal/external experts in multi-disciplined teams. The role will involve high-profile decisions through organisation governances meeting the Councils vision, values, and strategic objectives.

This is a diverse role covering a range of overarching programmes, projects and activities related to behaviour change, customer first, prevention and service promotions across Neighbourhood Service - waste management services.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
The ideal candidate will need to be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and highly organised person.
You will need to have strong communication skills and be able to engage with stakeholders at all levels in a proactive, politically sensitive manner. You will need to be customer focused and anticipate customer changes to plan and deliver high service standards.
You will need to be able to demonstrate initiative, be able to work under pressure to deliver against milestones and will need to have exceptional prioritisation and people skills.
- You will be able to lead, negotiate and make decisions to take forward communication plans, activities and projects with stakeholders.
- You will lead and manage a small team.
- You will matrix manage projects, activities, outreach work across internal teams and external supplier as part of waste contracts.
- You will lead research, consultations, monitoring, analyses trends and dissemination of good practice to inform strategic decision making within the council.
- You will manage budgets related to waste reduction and behaviour change projects.
- You will be able to lead, negotiate and make decisions to take forward communication plans, activities and projects with stakeholders.
- You will lead and manage a small team.

As a team we encourage hybrid working with two days in the office. The Neighbourhood Service waste teams are based across the county – Aylesbury and High Wycombe. Travel may also be required to various waste sites across the county which include depots, recycling centres and the Energy from Waste facility.
