We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and skilled Domestic Abuse Caseworker to join our Community Safety Team.
This role plays a crucial part in supporting victims and their children living in safe accommodation, in line with the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

About us
Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. About the role
As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will:
- Provide early engagement and triage support to victims of domestic abuse and their children.
- Deliver immediate risk management, safety planning, and safeguarding interventions.
- Offer person-centred advice, guidance, and signposting to specialist services.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, IDVAs, housing officers, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to safeguarding and risk management meetings.
- Support the development of referral pathways and contribute to service evaluation and improvement.
This is a dynamic, multi-agency role that requires sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of domestic abuse and safeguarding practices.
Mobile:
A ‘mobile’ role gives you the flexibility to schedule your own diary, so you can meet with colleagues and clients in a variety of locations. You’ll access digital folders and resources on your laptop and be able to use the network wherever you are based. Working from home will be common, as well as meeting your team in the office where necessary.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has substantial experience in domestic abuse, community safety, or related fields.
- Can engage effectively with individuals in crisis and build trust quickly.
- Has strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and support planning.
- Understands safeguarding procedures and the statutory obligations of the Domestic Abuse Act.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and IT skills.
- Is confident working across agencies and managing sensitive information.
- Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., IDVA/ISVA or equivalent experience) and ideally a degree-level education.
