Business Support Administrator - North Waste & Facilities Management Team

Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced administrator to join our friendly Facilities Helpdesk and Waste Team, who are responsible for resolving residential and contractor enquiries. The team support the operational services in delivering a high-quality, cost-effective waste collection & facilities management service for residents and businesses across Buckinghamshire.

We are on the lookout for a highly organised and detail-oriented administrator to join our friendly Helpdesk Team! You will be an integral part of a supportive team, dedicated to providing top-notch waste collection services for residents across Buckinghamshire. Your role will be key in supporting our operational service by answering and resolving customer and contractor enquiries efficiently to deliver service excellence.

This is a fixed term position until 31/07/2026.

This role is 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 12-17:00 based in Walton Street office) and the salary advertised will be pro-rata.

About us

We are a small and friendly team who provide front end support to our waste customers and council properties, including triaging and resolving resident waste enquiries, contacting contractors and organisations by telephone and email, managing invoice and order processing and supporting with requests for waste enquiries. The team are close knit and work collaboratively to ensure that Service Levels are met, and a high level of customer service is provided.

About the role

You will be responsible for providing high quality customer facing administration support to the team, including resolving telephone and email enquiries, engaging with contractors and organisations, and supporting in the successful delivery of the service.  This role will be varied and fast paced, and no two days will be the same.

Key accountabilities include.

  • To effectively manage inbound customer enquiries across several communication channels, to resolve queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To provide accurate information to service users, providing high levels of customer service.
  • To support with ordering and invoicing processes.
  • To maintain accurate customer and back-office systems.
  • To process service requests.
  • Liaise with the Operational teams to resolve service delivery issues.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Fixed

As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.

About you

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Possesses good communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
  • Educated to GCSE / NVQ2 standard or equivalent, including in English and Maths.
  • Keen to learn and able to juggle priorities effectively, often with conflicting demands.
  • Caring and helpful and able to work as part of a team.
  • Customer focused and has a can do attitude.
