Overview

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning are the main provider of part-time learning opportunities for adults in Buckinghamshire, inspected by Ofsted in April 2024 and graded ‘good’ overall with an ‘outstanding’ grade for our Adult provision. We offer a broad programme of taught courses, workshops and online learning delivered from almost 140 locations across the county including dedicated Adult Learning centres, schools, community and employer premises.

The purpose of this job is to further develop our marketing strategy and to increase resident participation; by implementing and evaluating marketing strategies and campaigns to deliver key messages ensuring they are in line with the corporate priorities and strategies.

This is a part time role working 24 hours per week on a fixed term / secondment basis.

About the role

We are looking for a suitably qualified Marketing & Communications Officer to improve brand awareness and promote a positive image of the service across Buckinghamshire, increasing participation through the use of well-considered, measured and analysed marketing campaigns delivered through traditional and digital channels.  You will liaise internally with the Council’s Communications team and Adult Learning education teams, along with our website provider and advertising networks to do this.    

About you

The successful candidate will:

  • Use systems including SAP, BAL web content management, social media channels and external design websites
  • Understand the communication needs of different audience groups and design communications and campaigns accordingly
  • Managing BAL’s social media campaigns, and individual social media pages ensuring relevant and timely messages, as well as exploring new digital opportunities
  • Produce service materials working alongside creative agencies and print agencies,
  • Provide on-going marketing advice and support to colleagues and other departments (Support includes copy writing, in-house flyer/newsletter designs and photography)
