This role is pivotal in enhancing recycling services, improving recycling rates, and delivering projects that benefit residents and the environment.

About us

We are a fast paced team managing a complex outsourced waste collection and street cleansing contract in the south of Buckinghamshire as well as providing services in the North of the County through its in-house team. We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service skills, organisational skills and who can form excellent working relations with a wide range of internal and external partners, to enhance the reputation of the Council.

About the role

As a Recycling Improvement Officer, you will lead and support key projects including but not limited to the rollout of food waste collection service to flats with communal services and reduction of contamination in recycling bins.

You will work closely with Veolia’s Project Officer, the wider waste team, and colleagues across North Waste Services to:

  • Plan, organise, and deliver service improvement projects
  • Analyse data to tailor communications and interventions
  • Lead public engagement and education campaigns
  • Coordinate service rollouts and liaise with suppliers and management agents
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure services meet residents’ needs

This role requires a full driving licence and involves regular site visits.

Any-Desk – hybrid working between High Wycombe and Aylesbury and working from home.

About you

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual who:

  • Has experience in project management, service improvement, or public engagement
  • Is confident in analysing data and using insights to inform decisions

  • Communicates effectively with diverse audiences, including residents, schools, and community groups
  • Is comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams
