Are you ready to step up into a Chief Planning Officer role to lead transformational change and shape the future of Buckinghamshire? We’re seeking a strategic, innovative leader for our Planning & Environment services. This is an exciting development opportunity that offers a comprehensive wrap around support and development programme.
About the Role:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management for Planning & Environment.
- Drive delivery of high-quality services and support the Council’s vision.
- Lead on major planning applications, infrastructure projects, and Local Plans.
- Build strong partnerships across the county and with external stakeholders.
- Champion a customer-focused culture and foster team development.
- Manage a budget of £55m and ensure effective financial control.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience leading planning/environment services in a large public sector organisation.
- Proven ability to deliver strategic objectives and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- Commercially minded, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.

Salary - £95,000
