Hours: Part-time. 2 days 11.30am - 3.30pm, 2 days 1.00pm - 3.30pm, Wednesdays 1.00pm - 5.00pm

We are a two-form entry Junior School in the village of Flackwell Heath on the same site as the Infant School. About the role

Carrington Junior School ARP is a nurturing setting for 8 autistic children with EHCPs. All children in the ARP access a supported mainstream curriculum, which is adapted through small staff to pupil ratios and carefully prepared resources. The majority of children in the ARP access SALT from an external therapist and some also receive OT or counsellor input, as per their individual needs. Children in the ARP have enhanced timetabled sessions linked to regulation, gross and fine motor skills and social skills within their daily timetable.

Most children in the ARP access some learning in their mainstream class a starting with PE lessons, and gradually increasing to a wider range of subjects as they move towards the top end of the school and generalise their skills.

This role encompasses planning for and delivering small group sessions to the children not in mainstream during the afternoons, mostly Years 3-5, and receiving and preparing all ARP children for the end of the day. There will be TAs present and at times, two distinct sessions taking place at once. 2 hours are timetabled for PPA within the scheduled hours for this role.

During the mornings the ARP is taught by the SENDCo, who supports the wider school in the afternoons.
