Are you an organised, reliable and proactive individual looking to play a key role in a friendly, village primary school? Marsh Gibbon CofE School, set in a beautiful rural location, is seeking a part time School Bursar to join our dedicated team.
We are looking for between 19.5hrs and 26hrs a week, ideally over 3/4 days, on the Bucks pay range 3/4 depending on experience (£28,129 - £32,594 FTE)

About the role
To ensure the efficient management of the school’s financial, administrative, and HR systems, supporting the Headteacher and Governors in delivering the school’s aims.
Key duties include:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing reports for the Headteacher and Governors
Manage the day-to-day school budget, including processing invoices, orders, and payments
Oversee payroll and liaise with external payroll providers as required
Ensure the school’s single central record is maintained accurately and in accordance with statutory requirements
Keep up to date with employment and safeguarding regulations, ensuring compliance across all administrative processes
Carry out and monitor DBS checks for all staff, volunteers and contractors, maintaining accurate records
Manage school funds
Support the Headteacher with HR processes including recruitment, induction, and maintaining personnel files
Administer contracts, licenses and service agreements
Liaise with external agencies, suppliers, and the local authority as required
Uphold confidentiality and data protection at all times
Undertake any other relevant duties as required by the Headteacher

About you
We are looking for someone with experience in finance or administration (ideally in a school), excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail. You’ll play a crucial part in our school community, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and always putting the safety and wellbeing of our pupils first.
Person Specification:
Experience of working in a finance or administrative role, ideally within an education setting
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail, particularly with record keeping
Good IT skills, including experience using financial management and information systems (desirable)
Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
High standards of integrity, honesty and confidentiality
Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible, proactive and able to prioritise workload effectively
