We have two exciting opportunities for Finance Analysts to join our team. These roles are secondment/fixed term contract opportunities for up to 12 months. We are looking to cover 2 posts, so full-time or part-time hours will be considered, including job share.
About us
As part of the Financial Analysis and Planning team working in either Adults and Health or Communities and Planning, Growth and Sustainability in Buckinghamshire Council, you'll provide support, advice and guidance to Senior Leaders, Service Directors and senior managers on service planning and budget management issues including financial modelling, both revenue and capital, financial controls, financial planning and contracts and procurement. You'll also work closely with other Finance staff to provide technical and professional advice to other officers within the Council.

About the role
This role focusses on supporting Heads of Service with analysis of cost and volume to help them make better decisions and manage high risk, complex budgets. It involves analysing large amounts of data and presenting it to non-financial managers, using the most up to date tools such as Power Query, Power Automate and Power BI, for which experience is desirable, but training can be provided. It includes responding to queries such as Freedom of Information requests and support for business cases. You will use data from our business feeder systems, and our financial system, SAP.

Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
With up-to-date knowledge of accounting best practice and processes, you'll have the ability to model, analyse and interpret complex financial data and present to non-financial managers.
An effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal, persuasion and negotiation skills to build relationships and influence the stakeholder community, you will be able to work under your own initiative, with the ability to resolve most problems without the need for escalation.
You’ll be Qualified AAT with relevant post-qualification experience and a demonstrable ability to work with minimal supervision.
Other information
The team you will be part of is currently working as part of an “any desk” model. This currently means working in the office in Aylesbury 40% of the time and working at home 60%.
