About the role

We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to support a small group of children with complex learning needs in Explorers class. Children in this group experience a blended approach of play-based learning alongside some integrated lessons in the mainstream classroom. We require a teaching assistant with current working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation stage to support our lead practitioner, whilst also supporting these children to access learning when back in the mainstream classroom. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone looking to apply their existing knowledge of Early Years teaching principles, whilst extending their experience to working with primary aged pupils in KS2.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and creative Teaching Assistant, with a passion for teaching children with complex SEND, such as Autism and moderate learning needs. You are someone who goes above and beyond for the children in your care, putting them at the heart of every decision. You are ambitious and motivated to improve the learning outcomes for every child. You are eager to engage with professional development opportunities and continually seek to develop and improve your practice. You have excellent communication skills and with support, has the confidence to deliver a creative curriculum for a small group of children working significantly outside their age expectation. You collaborate with others and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards. You have a positive outlook, oodles of patience and a great sense of fun.
