Trainee Digital Services Assistant

Overview
Join us as a Trainee Digital Services Assistant and play a key role in supporting our library teams with marketing, digital systems, and events. You’ll be part of a supportive environment where your contributions help shape the future of our library services.
This is a secondment/fixed-term contract opportunity until June 2026, working 25 hours per week and the salary advertised will be pro-rata.
There is flexibility to agree work patterns over four or five days.

About the role
As a Trainee Digital Services Assistant, your role will include:
- Creating and publishing marketing materials for libraries, including designing posters and managing social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Supporting library staff with systems enquiries and helping resolve IT issues.
- Providing project support for initiatives such as Rekindle and Healthy Libraries, ensuring smooth delivery and progress tracking.
- Collaborating with colleagues, prioritising daily tasks, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

You will be a creative and flexible person with an interest in library services, digital marketing and communications.

About the Business Unit
Our Communities directorate works across the county to deliver a number of the key customer-facing services that our residents, businesses and visitors rely on every day.
