Positive Risk Enablement Panel (PREP) Support Officer

Location: Aylesbury

Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable individual who will play a pivotal role in supporting the effective operation of the Positive Risk Enablement Panel (PREP).

As the PREP Support Officer, you’ll be at the heart of a forward‑thinking programme designed to strengthen multi-agency working, improve risk management approaches, and support better outcomes for adults across our communities. You will have a strong understanding of governance, information management, and multi‑agency working within a complex statutory environment.

Contract: This is a 6 month fixed term/secondment opportunity.

About us

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

About the role

You will provide end‑to‑end operational and specialist support to the PREP Co‑ordinator and Panel, ensuring that robust systems, processes and documentation are in place from the outset and that panel activity is well‑governed and legally compliant.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Providing support to the PREP Chair, panel members and stakeholders with information gathering and report preparation.
  • Preparing agendas for PREP meetings, producing and circulating reports and ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Coordinating PREP meetings, producing reports capturing key actions, decisions, and discussions.
  • Maintaining secure, compliant document management systems in line with data protection legislation, organisational policy and governance requirements.
  • Monitoring actions and outcomes, following up with responsible officers, and supporting continuous improvement of panel processes and practice.
  • Providing broader project support across multi‑agency initiatives.

Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

You will bring specialist knowledge and practical experience of working within an Adults & Health environment, including:

  • A strong understanding of data protection legislation and governance frameworks.
  • Previous experience of supporting complex panels, boards or projects.
  • An excellent knowledge of Adults and Health services and wider multi‑agency partnership working.
  • Confidence in explaining technical or specialist information clearly to non‑specialists, ensuring shared understanding of processes, expectations and responsibilities.
  • Excellent digital skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work with tracking systems, reports and virtual meeting platforms.
