We’re looking for a proactive and well‑organised Lane Rental Group Administrator to support the effective management of Buckinghamshire’s Lane Rental Surplus Funds. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative, coordination and communication skills who enjoys working with a variety of stakeholders and contributing to projects that make a real impact on our highways network.

About the role

Reporting to the Lane Rental Surplus Funds Lead, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination and administration of the Lane Rental Surplus Funds Group, made up of both internal colleagues and external partners. You will support the allocation of funding, ensure smooth governance of the group, and help monitor the outcomes of funded projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating the Lane Rental Surplus Funds Group, including meetings, documentation, and follow‑up actions.
  • Collating, analysing, and presenting information to support funding decisions and report on project progress.
  • Preparing reports, recommendations, and materials for both internal and external audiences.
  • Supporting the monitoring of project performance indicators and raising issues where required.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tenders, contracts, and arrangements with suppliers and contractors.
  • Researching best practice and developments within the sector to support continuous improvement.
  • Responding to enquiries, providing advice, and supporting stakeholders with accurate and timely information.

You enjoy working with others and are confident communicating with a wide range of people, whether you’re sharing information, helping colleagues, or supporting partners and stakeholders. You’re curious, proactive, and happy digging into information to help produce clear reports or recommendations that make a difference.

This role requires face-to-face working, collaboration and meetings. The postholder will be expected to be in the office at least two days a week.

About the Business Unit

Our Communities directorate works across the county to deliver a number of the key customer-facing services that our residents, businesses and visitors rely on every day.
