We are looking for a dedicated and driven individual to join our Corporate Business Support team. With over 300 staff members, we provide a wide range of services and are experts in delivering key support services to ensure the smooth operation of the council. As a Business Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in the council's success, providing exceptional support to our services.
Our current business support vacancy is within SENDIAS (Special Educational Needs and Disability Independent Advisory Service) an impartial service which offers information, advice and support on all matters related to SEND. This is a 12 month secondment/ fixed-term contract opportunity, working part time 18.5 hours per week and the salary advertised will be pro-rata.

About the role
As a Business Support Officer you will provide excellent support to those working in the front-line services supporting our residents.
The key accountabilities are:
- Excellent Customer Service
- Managing important & confidential correspondence
- Multiple complex telephone queries from internal and external customers
- Note-taking for a wide range of meetings
- Organising team meetings, agenda’s and taking minutes
- Inputting and data management
- Financial responsibilities
- Raising purchase orders/Paying invoices
- Forward planning
- General administrative duties.

Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and who can provide excellent support to those working in the front-line services supporting our residents.
The ideal candidate will already have a strong administrative background and be able to demonstrate the following qualities and skills:
- Hard-working professional.
- Customer focused.
- Resilient and able to demonstrate the ability to deal with sensitive and difficult information.
- Able to work flexibly to respond to service demand.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise a varied and challenging workload.
- Possess excellent communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
- Educated to GCSE/NVQ3 level or equivalent, including in English and Maths.
- Keen to learn and able to juggle priorities effectively, often with conflicting demands.
- Good ICT skills including Microsoft applications and have some experience using specialist systems.
- Caring and helpful.

Other information
These roles are office based but are currently being offered on a 40% office and 60% home working agreement. This arrangement is under continuous review, so may revert to an increase in office work, in line with business needs.
