Overview

The Head Teacher and Governors at Tylers Green Middle School are looking to appoint a learning support assistant to join our fabulous team of teachers and learning support assistants.

The successful candidate will be working with pupils aged 7 – 11 supporting them within whole class teaching and small group work or individual support with pupils when required.

Salary: 1b 6-10 Bucks Pay Scale

Contract: Fixed Term (1 year with potential to extend)

Hours: Part time

About the role

At Tylers Green Middle School as a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils’ access to high-quality teaching, learning and wider school life, working under the direction of the class teacher, SENDCo and other senior leaders. Learning Support Assistants.  The role includes supporting pupils within whole-class teaching, small-group work and individual support, while promoting high expectations and helping pupils to become increasingly independent learners. The role is varied and interesting, always developing with the needs of the pupils.  The main requirements of the role includes:

  • Delivering individual or small-group support where this has been planned by the teacher, SENDCo or relevant specialist.
  • Adapting support in response to pupils’ needs, while maintaining high expectations for what all pupils can achieve.
  • Contributing to a consistent whole-school LSA offer, while recognising that deployment may vary according to pupil need, year group context and lesson design.
  • Be part of the playground supervision rota (including break & lunchtimes) and, if required, supervise pupils who require additional support.
  • Support educational visits, workshops and outings.
