Casual Usher

Overview

Aylesbury Registration office are looking for a Casual Usher to work on Fridays and Saturday at their new ceremony venue, Judges Lodgings, to help couples and guests arriving for ceremonies.

We are getting particularly busy on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer season, and we are looking for an Usher to help us manage the couples and guests to ensure smooth running of all our ceremonies. The Usher will direct guests to the correct ceremony room or waiting area, ensure that the couples are directed to the registrars in a timely manner and assist them and their guests with any general enquiries they may have. You will be working both inside and, in the area immediately outside of the ceremony rooms to ensure you are visible to our customers. This is an important job as you welcome our couples and guests.

The hourly rate is £13.04 plus you will receive a 12.07% leave enhancement which totals £14.61 per hour.

About the role

You will be the welcoming face for couples and guests attending ceremonies at our registration offices across the county, although most of your work will be based at our Aylesbury offices.

You will be guiding couples and guests in a timely manner to correct waiting areas and ceremony rooms and ensuring couples are directed to registrars for pre-marriage questioning.

You will be working with registrars where necessary to ensure ceremonies proceed smoothly.

You will be working with a friendly and supportive team to help ensure that our couples and their guests have a fabulous experience.

You should be approachable, well presented, confident in dealing with people, have a friendly manner and be able to organise large groups.

Other information

The work is on a casual basis; you will be required each Friday and Saturday during the summer months but may not be required every Friday and Saturday outside that time.
