You will be joining a team that plays a key role in supporting important programmes that help shape and improve services across the Council.
About the role
In this position, you will provide a wide range of administrative and coordination support to programme and project teams. You will help reduce administrative pressures on delivery colleagues, enabling them to focus on achieving key outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and coordinating meetings for projects and programmes
- Recording actions and key decisions, ensuring accurate tracking and follow-up
- Supporting the production and formatting of board papers and documentation
- Managing shared mailboxes and responding to queries or directing them appropriately
- Assisting with financial processes, including invoice administration
- Supporting the delivery of workshops, including preparing materials and logistics
This role is key to ensuring the smooth and consistent operation of programmes that support organisational change, including Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) savings, demand management, and wider service improvement priorities across the Council.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is well organised with strong administrative skills
- Has experience supporting meetings, including note taking or minute taking
- Can manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Has good communication skills and attention to detail
- Is confident working with a range of colleagues and stakeholders
- Takes a proactive and flexible approach to their work
Experience of working in an administrative or business support role is essential. Experience within a local authority or supporting programmes/projects would be beneficial but not essential.

About the Service Area
Our Business Operations service is responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective business enablement services with a focused approach to customer experience, access channels and service delivery.
We deliver expert advice and guidance on the design and implementation of customer improvement projects and provide access to information, advice and support from a wide range of services through face-to-face contact and self-service internet-based transactions through our Council Access Points.
Business Operations works across a range of services provided by the council. We offer bespoke solutions to front-line services with an efficient, value-for-money business process administration and project support service. The strength of the team is its knowledge of the key support services required to ensure a smooth running of services being provided by the different Business Units.
