We are looking to appoint a creative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND Department in the secondary phase of Aylesbury Vale Academy.

Salary type: Bucks Pay

Salary Details: Bucks Pay Range 1 Point 6 (£24,836) to Point 10 (£25,823)

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

About the role

At the Academy, we aim to provide an inclusive, engaging and challenging experience, leading to an education of the highest quality.

Ideally, the candidates will have:

  • Experience of working in an educational provision, and ideally, relevant qualifications in Learning Support.
  • A calm, understanding and friendly personality.
  • The ability to manage behaviour and help students focus on any given task, encouraging students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • The willingness to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team, providing day to day classroom support to the children and assisting with student behaviour as and if required in supportive manner.
  • The ability to establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
  • The capability to work with teachers and the SENDCo to ensure progress and development.

About you

Applicants must have a GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent qualification.
