We are seeking an inspirational SENDCo to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis (1–2 days per week). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner or aspiring leader with a passion for championing inclusion and ensuring that every child receives the support they need to succeed.

As our SENDCo, you will work closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to develop and oversee high-quality provision for children with additional needs. You will play a key role in shaping our inclusive culture and helping to ensure that all learners thrive within our supportive school environment.

Term time only: No

Salary type: UPS

Salary Details: £51,757 FTE - Actual £10,353-£20,707, (depending on hours worked)

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Part-time, (1–2 Days per Week)

About the role

As our SENDCo, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every child at East Claydon Church of England School receives the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to thrive. Working closely with the Headteacher, staff, families and external agencies, you will lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school while maintaining a strong focus on the individual needs of our pupils.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's educational journeys. You will oversee the identification and assessment of pupils with additional needs, coordinate effective support plans, monitor progress and champion inclusive practice throughout the school. You will also provide guidance and support to colleagues, helping to ensure high-quality teaching and learning for all children.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about inclusion, committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, parents and professionals alike. The successful candidate will be an advocate for children with additional needs and will have the opportunity to shape provision within a caring and supportive school community.

The role includes responsibility for:

  • Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school.
  • Identifying and assessing pupils with additional needs.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing SEND support plans.
  • Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the impact of interventions.
  • Supporting and advising staff on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Maintaining accurate SEND records and ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Promoting a culture where every child feels valued, supported and able to achieve their potential.
