We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Team Leader to join our busy Corporate Business Support service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a large team delivering high-quality administrative and business support across the Council, helping to ensure services are responsive, efficient and customer focused.

Corporate Business Support (CBS) aims to provide the authority with an efficient, value for money business administration service.

About the role
You will join the Corporate Business Support Management team responsible for providing Business Support to various teams across Children’s Services.
You will be responsible for allocating work, managing performance and ensuring that service level requests, deadlines and quality standards are achieved.
You will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service, supporting operational delivery and helping the team respond effectively to changing priorities. Working closely with colleagues and professionals across the Council, you will use data, insight and good judgement to support decision making, identify improvements and help shape effective business support services.
You will be able to work flexibly to respond to Service demand which may require you to work from other locations across Buckinghamshire on a regular basis and including some working from home.
Key responsibilities
• Lead, manage and motivate a large team of business support staff, ensuring work is delivered to
agreed standards and timescales.
• Allocate, schedule and monitor workloads to ensure deadlines, service level requests and
customer requirements are met.
• Manage individual and team performance through regular supervision, performance reviews,
coaching and development.
• Support recruitment, induction, employee relations and related HR processes in line with
Council policies and procedures.
• Use performance information, KPIs and service data to monitor delivery, identify trends and
recommend improvements.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders across the
authority and fully understand the needs of the service.
• Support service planning, business continuity and the delivery of improvement activities.
• Deputise for the Team Manager when required and contribute to the effective day-to-day
running of the service.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
You will be:
An experienced and confident team leader with a strong background in business support, administration or a customer-facing environment.
Have excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise competing demands and a clear focus on delivering high-quality services.
Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, manage sensitive matters professionally and build positive working relationships.
Confident using Microsoft applications and relevant business systems, and able to use information and insight to support service improvement.
Proactive, solution focused and committed to developing others.
Have good judgement, initiative and a collaborative approach, with the ability to support change and help create a positive, high-performing team environment.

About the Service Area
Our Business Operations service is responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective business enablement services with a focused approach to customer experience, access channels and service delivery.
We deliver expert advice and guidance on the design and implementation of customer improvement projects and provide access to information, advice and support from a wide range of services through face-to-face contact and self-service internet-based transactions through our Council Access Points.
Business Operations works across a range of services provided by the council. We offer bespoke solutions to front-line services with an efficient, value-for-money business process administration and project support service. The strength of the team is its knowledge of the key support services required to ensure a smooth running of services being provided by the different Business Units.
Our Customer Service Centre is the front door for our residents, and we aim to deliver a professional, helpful and high-quality service. We pride ourselves on being resilient and adaptable to change, whilst understanding the processes, policies and values held by the council.
