We are currently recruiting for a Business Support Specialist to join our Corporate Business Support Service, supporting our Environmental Health Team. This is a part time role working 25 hours per week.

About the role

We are looking for experienced administrators with exceptional organisation skills and minute- taking experience, who will be able to provide effective support. All work carried out is of a highly confidential nature. The main tasks of a Business Support Specialist are:

  • Coordinating, organising, attending, and supporting practises within the Business Support Team.
  • Minute- taking skills
  • Typing up and distributing of notes and plans within tight deadlines
  • Supporting with generic tasks required of a Business Support Specialist.
  • The ability to build professional working relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • To be able to organise your own workload and prioritise effectively.

We currently have 3 days working from home and a minimum of 1 days in the office depending on the business need. There are occasions where you may be required to travel out of county however these instances do not happen very often and will be pre-planned.

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

 

About you

You will:

  • Possesses good communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of taking meeting minutes on a laptop.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and unambiguous minutes which accurately reflect discussions that have taken place.
  • To have strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Educated to A Level/HNC equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the organisation is essential
  • Be highly organised, good prioritisation skills
  • The ability able to work under pressure and deal with sensitive and sometimes destressing information

About the Service Area

Our Business Operations service is responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective business enablement services with a focused approach to customer experience, access channels and service delivery.

 We deliver expert advice and guidance on the design and implementation of customer improvement projects and provide access to information, advice and support from a wide range of services through face-to-face contact and self-service internet-based transactions through our Council Access Points.

 Business Operations works across a range of services provided by the council. We offer bespoke solutions to front-line services with an efficient, value-for-money business process administration and project support service. The strength of the team is its knowledge of the key support services required to ensure a smooth running of services being provided by the different Business Units.

 Our Customer Service Centre is the front door for our residents, and we aim to deliver a professional, helpful and high-quality service. We pride ourselves on being resilient and adaptable to change, whilst understanding the processes, policies and values held by the council.
