About the role

The Lead Employee Rep role is a voluntary role that is to be delivered alongside your substantive Buckinghamshire Council role. It requires good organisation skills to ensure both roles are delivered to their full potential.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Co-chairing Employee Rep Network meetings, ensuring they are well-organised, productive and inclusive.
  • Representing the views and interests of the Employee Rep Network (circa 80 colleagues) and the wider workforce to CMT, Service Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of the council's employee engagement strategy and action plan.
  • Providing guidance, support and feedback to the Employee Reps and encourage their participation and development.
  • Identifying and escalating any issues or concerns that affect the Employee Rep Network or the wider workforce.
  • Bringing new ideas, fresh perspectives and creativity to the role to continue to support the council through a period of change.
