Interim Monitoring Officer
Location: Aylesbury
Overview
Interim Monitoring Officer
Following the announcements in July regarding the Assistant Chief Executive's departure, we are inviting internal expressions of interest to undertake the Monitoring Officer responsibilities on an interim basis. This is not a like-for-like replacement of the Assistant Chief Executive role, but an interim arrangement focused on the discharge of the Council's statutory Monitoring Officer duties.
Given the statutory nature and seniority of the role, expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced officers who can demonstrate the necessary senior-level experience, political awareness and credibility to advise Members and senior officers on complex legal, governance and constitutional matters.
The interim appointment will focus on the Council’s statutory Monitoring Officer responsibilities, ensuring continuity of these important governance arrangements.
If you are interested in being considered, please submit a written expression of interest outlining your motivation for applying for the role, together with an up-to-date CV, to Vicki Oliver at [email protected] by 9am on Monday 7th September.
Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 8th September and will be held by the Senior Appointments and Pay Committee (SAPC). Any appointment will be subject to the necessary governance process, including consideration by the SAPC and subsequent noting by Full Council.
